Letting Go with Trust

When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be. When I let go of what I have, I receive what I need.
Lao Tzu

We know when we're grasping, gripping tightly, digging in our heels, or clutching something and won't let it go. Why are we holding on so vehemently, and to what? We’re in the midst of unprecedented transformation and miraculous new beginnings on our planet, but we still hold onto our old destructive habits because we’re afraid of what is not familiar. We might fear that we’ll have to give up some conveniences about how we live, even if it’s truly very uncomfortable or unsustainable.

Letting go is not giving up. This is about simply surrendering our hold on what was in the past or our ideas of what might be in the future. That means staying present to each moment of life as it flows to and through us. When we let go of our expectations about how things could be or should be, we can experience life in a fresh, new way. We become free to fly, run, dance and yes, even fall. Letting go might mean that the only safety net beneath us is Trust. I trust that change is sure to occur, and my intuition is sensing that 2016 will bring more changes more rapidly than we've ever experienced in previous years. It would be wise to be prepared to let go, over and over again, and just enjoy the ride of the unknown.

Here's what Pope Francis says about Trust: "Although the life of a person is in a land full of thorns and weeds, there is always a space in which the good seed can grow. You have to trust God."

I created a NON-New Year’s Resolution for this year. It feels right to not make a declaration or specific intention to have to accomplish a lofty goal, a tiny goal, or even for me to personally have to do or change anything. Instead, I surrender my human preferences. I prefer to Trust that I am always guided by a great Divine Intelligence that is taking me exactly where I need to be as I allow myself to dive fully into the River of Life. It feels as right and profound as 'Let Go and Let God.' I trust that kind of resolution. I know I am safe enough to relinquish whatever needs to be released…to Be Lighter, literally.

May THIS be our year to finally be free of old stuff that we really don't need to carry around anymore. That will give us the freedom to let go of our heavy mental and emotional chains, to lighten up, to fly without fear, and to gain the abilities and skills to grow our good seeds in an endless and fertile field of Trust.

You got some damn good trust for your brothers or sisters to connect with a “rescue” parachute, that will allow you to live…this time.
