Complex systems require new approaches to dealing with entangled interdependences and inherent fuzziness … They require collaborations, participation, openness and inclusion. – Margaret Wheatley
The citizens of the Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg/Sarasota, Florida region have been hosting a myriad of co-creative modalities since 2008. The Art of Hosting, World Cafes and Conscious Community College events are some of the potent ways the community has come together over the years. “One of the greatest outcomes of the World Café process was that every one in the room got to see that they are not alone, that there are others who care and share their ideas and challenges.”
In 2014 EVOLVING TAMPA BAY was a co-creative event focusing on community coherence and giving visibility to what's working in the region. Learn more below about how people are connecting through circles, organizations, neighborhoods and government.

The Connection Partners facilitate change through effective engagement with community and business decision makers. We are dedicated capacity builders who practice individual and group learning as continuous, essential components of change. We recognize the interconnections between inner self and outer actions. No matter how brilliant one may be, a person, organization or institution cannot address today’s complex, interrelated challenges alone.
Climate change is a global invitation to remember who we truly are, as human beings. Many explorers have led the way, offering maps to guide those ready to step into the unknown. We are waking up to recognize that everything is connected. One thing leads to many others, as if we are all entangled in a web of life. Science shows that we actually are. Complexity grows, causing some to turn away, forgetting that structure is integral to chaos (as well as vice versa). Maps help.Any community is its own ‘laboratory’ to learn how to grow one that flourishes and prospers – for everyone. We use the frame of People, Planet, Prosperity and Place. The picture is the permaculture flower with seven petals, each representing different functions of a community. We have added one more – Process. With dialogue and communication the others interface better together.
Our Vision: Prosperous, flourishing communities of love*
Our Mission: Conscious sustainability – re-balancing quality of all life, while reducing human imprints.

Sacred Lands hosts a variety of programs and events which are at the mound site which is the location of an ancient Tocobago village. Native American speakers are invited here to share their stories and information about their cultures and spirituality. We also have programs about the history of the land and Native Americans who lived here and invite archaeologists to speak about their understanding of Florida's first people. We have a special interest in the arts and music and on a regular basis have music and other entertainment on the grounds. At each event, there is an opportunity to tour the land and learn about its history here on Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida.
At the heart of our programs we hope to assist people in feeling the truth of the statement that "we are all related."

Move to Amend Barnstorming Event with David Cobb
33617 Tampa , FL
Move to Amend co-founder and Outreach Director David Cobb, is visiting TAMPA this JANUARY in an effort to build connections, inspire activism, and reveal the origins of corporate power in America.
Move to Amend is a national coalition of over 400,000 people and organizations whose goal is amending the United States Constitution to end corporate rule by building a multiracial, cross-class democracy movement. David's presentations are part history lesson and part heart-felt call-to-action! "Challenging Corporate Rule & Creating Democracy" aims to help local folks understand how they can work to abolish corporate personhood and establish a government of, by, and for the people.
This event is free and open to the public. Move to Amend finances these tours through the generous donations of event attendees.
